SOLID TIMBER WALL CLADDING

“Isn’t all timber solid?” you might ask. Technically yes all timber is a hard substance…possibly with the exception of balsa wood – but when people say “solid” timber what they mean is that the timber is made up of a single solid timber piece, it’s not a timber veneer over a non-timber base or structure.

There are many reasons someone might use non-solid timber in a project. For example, Eco Timber Group’s Heatwood timber is non-solid, composed of a composite stone base with timber lining above it, making it perfect for areas too hot for solid timber. Solid timber cladding, however is quite resilient to anything that might be thrown at it. The timber used in cladding is treated to be resistant to weather, and impervious to insect attack.

Not only is solid timber wall cladding a functional, protective barrier that can greatly increase the longevity and structural integrity of your building, but it also creates an amazing texture that looks good and adds an element of artistry to any construction project. When you buy solid timber cladding from Eco Timber Group, you are guaranteed not only a quality product and service, but also complete environmental sustainability, as all of our timber stock has been ethically acquired through renewable sources.
